  I highly recommend using a hair restoration clinic. I learned a lot of things I was doing to damage my hair and a couple months later, I have beautiful hair.

  From Devastated to Elated!
  My hair had been falling out for 6 weeks, about 200 hairs a day after a very damaging relaxer applied by Noah at Alexander Pope Salon on Dec 7, 2009. In an attempt to repair my hair I went to Seven Salon for Keratase scalp treatments. They were very kind and sympathetic but my hair was not recovering. On January 19 I walked by the Pure Gold Restoration Clinic, it was closed but I called and left a message. LaVerne, the owner called me back and that the was the beginning of my recovery. I showed up the next day around 10:30 where she began to educate me about my hair. And then she performed nothing short of a miracle hair by conditioning and moisturizing it in a way that neither I nor anyone else had never done. For 6 weeks I had been losing over 100 hairs every morning and generally 100 more or so would just fall during the day (and yes, I was so neurotic I counted because it is devastating to see your hair coming out at that rate and for such a long time.) LaVerne instructed me to comb my hair everyday and on Wednesday morning the day after seeing LaVerne, I combed it out and I only lost 17 hairs and a mere 6 more came out the during rest of the day. You cannot imagine my joy! But more than just restoring my hair - LaVerne restored my hope. She said I had to stop walking backwards every time I recanted the past damaging hair experience. She said I needed to look forward to my new growth - I am certain she was talking about more than just my hair.   Yes I agree LaVerne is very good for Real Hair. If you’re tired of weaves & braids go to Pure Gold. Conveniently located in Oaktown. Great for african american or mixed hair.

  I’ve been a client of Laverne’s for 12 years. This woman is truly gifted in the art of hair care, restoration and maintainance. I left 4 years ago because I wanted braids and weaves. Lavernes’ speciality, her talent is with real hair. I came back two years later in BAD shape. She welcomed me with open arms. I’ve been a regular client for two year; my hair has grown at least seven inches. I listen to her suggestions and my hair is reapen’ the rewards.
